Chief Executive Officer
Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) is on a mission to improve the care and outcomes of patients with kidney disease worldwide through the development and implementation of global clinical practice guidelines. KDIGO was originally established in 2003 by the National Kidney Foundation, a U.S. foundation experienced in developing and implementing guidelines in kidney disease. In 2013 KDIGO became an independently incorporated non-profit foundation and is governed by an international volunteer Executive Committee.
As its name implies, KDIGO is a global organization whose focus is developing and implementing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in kidney disease. It is a volunteer-lead, self-managed charity incorporated in Belgium, accountable to the public and the patients it serves. KDIGO has a small but energetic core staff who facilitates all of its work across the globe.
Verici Dx is proud to support the global promotion of awareness, dissemination, adoption, and clinical integration of KDIGO Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Verici Dx CEO, Sara Barrington, spends some time with KDIGO's Chief Executive Officer, John Davies, to discuss balancing guidelines responsibly and what their vision for the future holds.

GUIDELINES: KDIGO guidelines translate scientific advances into useful and practical clinical practice recommendations and observations.
CONFERENCES: KDIGO regularly convenes Controversies Conferences which bring together expert thought leaders to discuss and debate nephrology-related issues not yet fully resolved.
IMPLEMENTATION: KDIGO implementation activities include sessions at society congresses, stand-alone KDIGO meetings, summits, expert roundtables, implementation kits, speaker tours and more.
KDIGO depends on volunteer and corporate support to educate the global kidney community and improve outcomes for patients all over the world. KDIGO does not elicit corporate support for Clinical Practice Guidelines.
